Financial Adviser

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Planning) – University of Wollongong

I initially discovered my passion for Financial Advice when I helped my parents identify their retirement goals – ultimately allowing them to retire earlier than they imagined. This is what drives me as an adviser – to help people develop financial literacy by providing the tools they need to achieve their financial goals. My mission as an adviser is to simplify financial concepts, so that clients are able to make informed financial decisions.
I know first-hand the power of goal-setting as I recently stumbled upon an old journal entry of mine. I had set myself the goal to become a Financial Adviser and to have now achieved it is one of my proudest moments.

I commenced my Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Financial Planning in 2010 and subsequently joined Adviser fp in 2017.

I worked in several professional environments prior to joining Adviser fp which has provided me an ability to empathise and relate with a diverse range of clients from various backgrounds.

Upon finishing my degree, I wanted to learn from experienced advisers. I sought out the best practices in NSW and with Adviser fp I felt that I had found a practice that puts the client first. Given the 30 years of history as a firm, and the values that Adviser fp embodies, I knew it would be an incredible environment to develop my skills as a Financial Adviser. An initial coffee with Director, Simon Clifford, turned into a few meetings which eventually resulted in a position as part of the Adviser fp team.

I quickly worked my way into roles of responsibility within Adviser fp, first as a Client Service Officer, then as Client Service Manager and paraplanner. I have also mentored several colleagues through their journey within Adviser fp . Spending quality time in these roles has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of clients needs and objectives, while getting an intimate understanding of the technical side that encompasses Financial Advice.

I was born with mild Cerebral Palsy, which I consider to be fortunate as it has given me opportunities I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would get to experience – such as representing Australia in football (soccer) as a Pararoo – and being a proud advocate for others with Cerebral Palsy to make sure they get the most out of life. Away from the sporting field, my beautiful fiancé Emily keeps me grounded and we love getting out in nature to go on walks or just spending time together catching up on our favourite shows.

Business Development Manager

  • Certificate in Marketing
  • Diploma of Financial Planning
  • Advance Diploma of Financial Planning

I commenced my financial Planning career in July 2001 after selling a small business franchise and finishing my semi professional football career in Australia. I have successfully managed and implemented a number of initiatives either from the establishment of my personal business where I developed a successful and profitable organisation within a relatively short period of time, to my more significant achievement as a Senior Financial Planner.

My commercial acumen and personable approach, further developed through many years of financial planning experience, provides me with a significant competitive advantage in delivering successful investor outcomes.

As a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), I receive the greatest satisfaction by providing financial solutions and financial outcomes for people to achieve their financial goals, established on trusted advice and consistent ongoing communication.

Having previously worked in a large financial institution, I was employed by Adviser fp in late 2014 as a Senior Financial Planner to provide holistic financial advice. What I have really enjoyed is developing deeper relationships with my clients and being far more active with the ongoing management of their plans. At the end of 2021 I decided to re-direct my extensive client experience to focus on Business Development and help Adviser fp shape it’s progress into the future.

I’m a proud dad to my only son, I love coffee and also enjoy being a football coach in the NSW Men’s 2 State League.

  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP) - Financial Planning Association of Australia
  • Accredited Adviser - Family Business Australia (FBA)
  • Diploma of Financial Planning (Dip FP) - Financial Planning Association of Australia

I have always enjoyed helping people and to this day still find it one of the most rewarding things I do.

Having been in the Financial Planning industry since 1988, I’ve held a range of positions commencing as a life insurance consultant, shortly thereafter becoming a financial planner when I established my financial planning business in 1990.

Very early on I realised that continuing education was a core ingredient too not only helping people, but running a successful business. I completed my Certificate in Financial Markets in 1994, then went straight on to complete a Diploma in Financial Planning in 1997. To round out my industry qualifications I attained the highest designation becoming a Certified Financial Planner in 1997. A glutton for punishment I still needed more, commencing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 1998 completing it in 2001. I continue to study and do short courses today. Most recently becoming an Accredited Adviser with Family Business Australia (FBA) in 2014.

These roles have enabled me to gain significant experience in running a business and the operations of a licensed dealer in securities.

In 2001 I was part of the core group of businesses that established a privately owned Australian Financal Services Licensee (AFSL). I was a Director of this Licensee from inception up until it was sold in June 2012.

I have a keen interest in Family Business stemming from my background of working with my brother for 13 years (1990 – 2003) as well as being confronted with the additional complexities of buying out a family member in 2003.

I am married and have a son and daughter who are both in high school. As with all parents I am kept busy with all the kid’s activities as well as getting involved in various community fund raisers.

Currently a partner of Adviser fp, our practice is actively involved in providing financial planning advice to a broad range of clients with significant assets under advice.

  • Bachelor of Business (B. Bus)
  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP) - Financial Planning Association of Australia
  • Graduate Diploma in Marketing (Grad Dip Mktg)
  • Diploma of Financial Planning (Dip FP) - Financial Planning Association of Australia
  • Accredited Aged Care Professional™

I commenced my Financial Planning career as an adviser in January 2000. Previously, I had over 20 years experience in both public and private sector organisations including a number of senior managerial roles.

I now concentrate on providing Aged Care Financial Planning advice within the practice. As an area of growing importance within the advice industry, my experience and education has been fundamental in laying the necessary foundation to understand this highly specialised field and my years as a Certified Financial Planner allows me to tailor customised strategies.

My career in financial planning is a vocation that has been rewarded by meeting new people and the satisfaction of seeing their well laid plans come to fruition. This is an aspect that is all the more rewarding for me now as I work with multiple levels within families, often the children of retirees and those requiring advice on assisted living, who are looking to solve the Aged Care puzzle in a timely and financially viable manner.

I am married with 3 adult children (still living at home) and like to follow & participate in a variety of sports.

  • Master of Commerce (Financial Planning) – University of Western Sydney
  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP) - Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA)
  • Foundation Diploma of Financial Planning - Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA)
  • Graduate Diploma (Marketing) – Monash University
  • Affilate Diploma (Life Insurance) – The Australian Insurance Institute (AII)

I have worked in the Financial Planning industry since 1992 – the same year compulsory Superannuation began in Australia. Prior to joining this practice, I held a number of technical, marketing and management positions in AMP, Mercantile Mutual and Tower.

In joining the team at Adviser fp in 2002 and shortly after becoming a financial planner, I discovered that personal financial planning that encompassed both financial and lifestyle goals was a lot more rewarding than merely focusing on the numbers alone. Helping people to work towards and achieve their dreams, goals and aspirations is an integral component to the ongoing success of our business.

With regards my industry qualifications, I am proud to have completed a Masters degree at Western Sydney University (prev UWS) majoring in financial planning and have also attained the highest industry designation in studying for and completing the FPA’s Certified Financial Planner program.

The thing that gives me the greatest joy however are my three school-aged children and together with my wife, a primary school teacher in the Hills district, we find we spend much of our time in our local community with the kid’s sports teams and other activities.

As a principal partner and director of Adviser fp, our office is conveniently located in the Parramatta CBD, yet provides financial planning advice and services to a broad range of clients spanning the Eastern seaboard.
